Echo of Dalriada - Bleeding prayer

In the mirror of shatterd dreams
He recalled of long path of life,
He was born to be noble, good and
strong,
But evil fate let him fall in strife.

His mortal body is broken yet,
The last years are running out,
Bravest among the Brave he was
once,
But powerful is his foes’ crowd.

As he remembers those he loves,
Tears turn his ashen face dim:
Wind blows away the great names he
cries,
Curse and prayer have bowed him.

Undefeated on battlefields
Touching immortality,
His power’s gone, to life’s end he
yields,
Left behing desperately.

Stepping into hisfather’s hall,
Under life’s burden he faints:
Spirits of vigour passed away all,
But torment and anguish remained.

His braveness fell a prey to the pas,
The last years are running out,
Bravest among the Brave he was
once,
Ceaseless prayer to death now he
shouts.

My prayers are burning,
Sadly yearning..
Come and release me, merciful death!
Bleeding and burnin,
Skywards turning (not returning),
If dawn’s light finds me I’m surely
damned.

All things that counted, vanished
away hence,
Oceas of tears, but believe, nothing
was chance,
The called, I came, fought, no
questions, no penitence,
Nothing left, but the bleeding prayer!

Full of wounds I didn’t cry bleeding
in the mud,
I stood up always as I felt the call I
got,
Ashes and dust turned to fire in my
blood,
Here i chant my bleeding prayer!
